Teachers, Speak Out!

We want to engage the BC government in discussions that will lead to a negotiated settlement and bring peace and stability back to our schools.

Please contact the people from the lists below and let them know that:
1. You want the government to negotiate a collective agreement with teachers, instead of imposing one through Bill 22.
2. You want services for kids restored to pre-2002 levels, with reasonable class sizes and appropriate services for special needs students.
3. How Bill 22 will affect you personally. For example, if you are a teacher, how will Bill 22 impact your classroom and your working conditions? If you are a parent, how will Bill 22 affect the education of your children?

Delta Teachers speak out, NOW!!!

"Every year, the cuts get worse. It gets very disheartening when you feel your employer is working against you."

 Stefanie Rainaldi, French Teacher

"Bill 22 makes everything worse. It even takes away the few guaratees we used to have for class conditions."

 Letitia Sladden, Social Studies Teacher

"It seems the government just wants to make our professional lives as difficult as they can. How can this do any good for kids?"

 Dave Mathieson, Teacher On Call

"The overcrowded classrooms are a serious problem. This government talks a good game, but then they introduce this law that will bring in even deeper cuts."

 Karen Symonds, Counsellor
