All the forms to apply for professional development funding are available by clicking on the links below. Each application form has a submition deadline date, please make sure you apply on time as no late applications are accepted. You may submit applications via the school mail, regular mail or by fax (604-946-1629)
Please make sure you read all the policies that accompany the applications. The policies contain all the information you will need to make sure your application is completed correctly and is submitted with all the pertinent documentation, this will ensure that your application is processed in a timely fashion. You will also find all the imformation you need to receive reimbursement for funding. If you have any questions that have not been answered in the FAQ's please feel free to contact the DTA office. Individual PD Opportunities:
Regular Funding Application Form 5020R is for conferences/workshops. There is a maximum of $650.00 per year with a limit of $1000.00 over a three year period. Applications must be received by the DTA office 14 days in advance of the workshop/conference.
Credit Course Funding Application Form 5020CC is to be used to help fund a course where you will be receiving post secondary credits. The same limits as for regular funding also apply here*. The university/college will issue you a T2022A and we in turn will issue you a T4A for income tax purposes. Applications must be received by the DTA office before the course begins, we do not accept applications after the course has begun or backdate for prior courses taken.
*Please note that the money allocated for credit courses is contained in the same allotment of funds as Regular PD Funding, in other words you get a maximum of $650.00 per year up to $1000.00 over three years regardless of whether you use it for regular PD or a credit course...you do not get it for both.
Travel and Accommodation Form 5020TA is for travel and accommodation expenses for conference/workshops attended outside the Metro Vancouver area. Please itemize all anticipated expenses - the form will indicate the type of expenses covered by DTA PD funds. When sharing costs please indicate with whom. This form should accompany your regular PD funding application when required.
National/International PD Opportunities:
As of July 1, 2012 this source of funding is no longer available.
Other PD Opportunities:
Self Directed Funding Application Form 5160SD is for individuals to carry out their personal professional development. For examples on possible acitivites that may be funded please see the policy on form. There is a limit of 1 TOC day per year and is seperate from regular funding. Application must be received by the DTA office at least 14 days in advance of activity.
Interest Based Group PD Funding Form 5042IBG is for interest based groups to apply for funding. You must complete the form in full and include all anticipated costs. The application form will go to the PD Committee for approval.
